HIFU: The Non-Surgical Facelift with No Scars Nor Downtime

As you grow older, you’ve probably noticed the wrinkles on the outer corners of your eyes start sloping and gaining prominence. Those eyebrows aren’t as arched as they were 10 years ago. The laptop screen blanks out when you run out of power. Starting in the black abyss, you don’t remember your resting bitch face looking this grumpy!

You’ve considered getting some treatment, but you’ve done your research and it looks far too uncomfortable. Plus, you could be out of work for at least a week, which is simply not possible.

But. What if you could have a non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that has no recovery time… to fight the signs of your ageing?

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (also known as HIFU) is a non-surgical, clinically proven technology for face and neck lifting and the reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Through ultrasound waves, HIFU delivers heat energy to the skin and subcutaneous tissue which then stimulates and renews the skin’s collagen, improves its texture, and reduces sagging.

HIFU is growing in popularity as dramatic results that last for 1-2 years can be achieved in as little as one or two sessions, lasting only approximately 60 minutes each. HIFU penetrates at deeper depths and higher temperatures than radio frequency, treating beyond the dermis, where skin structure starts to weaken, leaving the skin restored and rejuvenated.

HIFU facials are one of the best and most efficient way of boosting the collagen production that tends to slow down with age. The treatment will naturally kick-start your body to gently increase the levels of the collagen and elastin in your skin.

What does HIFU feel like?

With a HIFU facelift, the ultrasound energy will focus on small areas and target deep structural layers of the skin with heat, tightening and lifting to reduce the signs of ageing and revealing a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

You may experience slight discomfort during a procedure. Depending on the body part being treated, some people describe it as tiny electric pulses or a punching-to-the-jaw-like sensation.

If you’re worried about pain, you are welcome to take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), such as ibuprofen or panadol, prior to treatment.

Immediately after the treatment, you may experience mild redness or swelling, which will gradually recede over the next few hours.

With two treatments lasting approximately 60 minutes each, results are long-lasting and remain visible for over a year.
