Coronavirus and Your Visit: What an Appointment at Lissom Spa & Beauty will be like at Level 2 (30 April, 2020)

Put the scissors down, embrace your grey roots, don't pop that pimple and stand by, we'll be back with you soon!

Dear All,

As a precautionary measure against the coronavirus outbreak for the safety of our staff and customers, we temporarily closed Lissom Spa & Beauty on 8 March before the levels 3 and 4 lockdown started. As we are nearing two months of closure, we are eagerly awaiting Lissom Spa & Beauty's return to business as usual.

In a press conference last week, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern advised that when we descend to level 2 (hopefully in mid-May), people can start to return to a sense of normality within their lives.

By then, people will no doubt be raring to get back into their beauty routines!

Within the beauty world where person-to-person contact is a must, our Spa & Beauty Team has been back at work this week, examining every inch of our premises and reviewing every touch point that involves customers and reviewing our spa offerings in line with our new staff motto "Pampering to Perfection", to see how we can delight and treat our customers when we reopen.

The New Zealand Government's COVID-19 guidelines have advised that at level 2, customers can start booking in beauty treatments.

In terms of Lissom's businesses approach and practices, we follow strict hygiene procedures in accordance with the New Zealand Beauty Therapy Association practices for client safety. We already have medical grade autoclaves on-site but we'll be elevating our hygiene standards and procedures to ensure that we remain COVID-free. These are our guidelines:

⭐️ We will provide staff adequate PPE including new uniforms, surgical masks, and disposable gloves to perform treatments safely for both staff and clients, as well as performing stringent cleaning of rooms between each client.

⭐️ We will implement 2 metre social distancing in the waiting areas and pre-screening consultations for staff and customers.

⭐️ We will implement a "deluxe lockdown", with customers only attending their booking within 15 minutes of the start and end of each appointment allowed on the premises. If you arrive early or late, you may have to wait in your car until your appointment and leave the children at home.

⭐️ We will allow 15 minutes' extra time for room turnover between clients to make sure there's no crossover of clients being in the waiting room with somebody else, and also to give our staff enough time to make sure everything is thoroughly sanitised in line with the extra disinfection control procedures that we will put in place.

It has admittedly been a tough time since we opened the spa five months ago in December. With the Christmas and New Year breaks compounded with a global pandemic, we have barely had a full month's work yet and are eager to be returning soon.

Most importantly in the meantime, stay safe. We hope to see you soon.

The Lissom Spa & Beauty Team
